Once-invisible walls
Blurred and smudged
By grubby palms
They lurk and judge.
She lives surrounded
In constant fear.
That box keeps her grounded,
Weighed down with her tears.
She's lost sight of hope
It's vanishing quick.
The locket is broken,
Thrown in a ditch.
It once held two hearts,
Bonded and strong.
Then, it held one.
Now, they're both gone.
